Missouri has tossed out a late offer to WR DeAngelo Yancey, who is committed to Kentucky.
It’s giving the 6-foot-2, 205-pounder from Mays High School something to think about.
Yancey was offered by new Missouri assistant Pat Washington, who recruited him for Kentucky before the staff got fired.
“Coach Washington, I guess he went to Missouri,” Yancy told the AJC. “He came to the school (on Thursday) and said ‘I’m at Missouri, and I still want you.’”
What was Yancey’s reaction? “I told him that I didn’t know much about Missouri. I told him I was still 100-percent committed to Kentucky. But before Coach Washington got fired, we had a real good relationship.”
Yancey is scheduled to visit Kentucky next weekend and is considering a recruiting trip to Missouri for Feb. 1.
“Kentucky is on the rise right now … we’re looking real good and the fans are going crazy,” Yancey said. “Under the new scheme they’re bringing in, they throw the ball a lot – and that’s what is keeping me in right now.”
