  • Roddy White said he has an high ankle sprain. He told the Jeff Schultz twice that he had an high ankle sprain. The Falcons had repeatedly denied that he suffered a high ankle sprain since he was injured on Aug. 15 against Baltimore.
  • The offensive line blocking issues are real. “It’s an every evolving thing. I thought we made a lot of good strides over the offseason. :We lost two  parts (McClure and Clabo), but moving forward,” center Peter Konz said. “ “We have a lot of good players on this offensive line. We are starting to gel even more now that the season is kicked off. We are going to see that film and we’re going to talk about it at length to make sure that we make the corrections that we need to make.”
  • Matt Ryan can take a hit. Safety rookie safety Kenny Vaccaro put a hit on Ryan when he was sliding after a run and received a personal foul. “It was just one of those things,” Ryan said. “I just had the wind knocked out of me. It just takes a second to catch your breathe. It was just the wind.”
  • Saints coach Sean Payton owns the Falcons.  Falcons coach Mike Smith is the winningest coach team history with a record of 56-24, is now 2-7 against Saints coach Sean Payton.
  • Running back Steven Jackson is a stand up guy. He felt he should have caught the touchdown pass on third down of the Falcons final drive. “When my number is called, I expect to make plays,” Jackson said. “Difficult, easy  or whatever. That’s the expectation that I have of myself. I don’t live in a ‘what if’ world. I expect to make the play. . .  I expect to make the play . . . I expect to make the play. I dropped the ball. ….I dropped the ball ”
