Falcons safety William Moore fined for hit on Thompkins

FLOWERY BRANCH -- Falcons safety William Moore was notified of an undisclosed fine for a hit on New England receiver Kenbrell Thompkins by the league office on Thursday.

Falcons coach Mike Smith would not comment on the fine.

"I'm not going to comment on league matters," Smith said. "That's a league matter and I don't think it's appropriate for me to make any comment on that."

Moore is appealing the fine.

It was his second notice of the season for Moore, the Falcons hard-hitting safety who went to the Pro Bowl last season as an alternate. He was also fined for a hit in the New Orleans game.
