CVS offers big savings

Campbell’s: Scan your CVS card at the red coupon center to get a 50-cent store coupon for Campbell’s chicken noodle or tomato soup (10 3/4 ounce). On sale for $1, you’ll pay just 50 cents with the coupon. This is a great item to donate to food pantries because the food supply is at its lowest point this time of year.

Xtra: CVS has Xtra liquid laundry detergent (30 loads) on sale for $1.49, no coupons required.

More Savings Tips

• Pull out the CVS weekly ad that you receive in your Sunday AJC to find a coupon for 20 percent off your entire purchase (full-priced items only) with an additional 10 percent off CVS-brand items. This helps you save on your favorite items that rarely go on sale.
• Don’t miss September’s Procter & Gamble coupon circular in last Sunday’s AJC, with more than $93 in coupons (before factoring in any double coupon values). Find coupons for Crest, Tide, Pampers, CoverGirl, Pantene, Olay, Always, Tampax and more brands. Plus, when you scan your CVS card at the red coupon center in the store, you will get a coupon for $1 off any P&G item pictured on the back page of the store ad. For example, Pantene shampoo, conditioner (12.6 ounce) or stylers (up to 11.5 ounce) are on sale for $3.50. Use the $1.50-off-two coupon from the Sept. 1 P&G circular to pay $2.75 each. You can use the $1 store coupon on two to pay $2.25 each, and you also will get a $1 Extrabucks reward. Your net cost will be $1.75 each. Boxes of Puffs tissues (48 to 96 count) are on sale for 88 cents. If you were to use the $1 coupon, you would get the tissues free.

Rite Aid and CVS

 Nature Made: Nature Made vitamins are “buy one, get one free” at both CVS and Rite Aid. Find a coupon for $2 off two Nature Made vitamins in the Aug. 25 SmartSource to save more than 50 percent on these items.

Soda sale: Rite Aid has Coke product 12-pack cans on sale for $3.50 each. You will get a $2 +UP Reward on two, so your net cost will be $2.50 each. CVS has Coke 12-pack cans on sale for $3 each, limit four. CVS 24-pack purified water (16.9-ounce bottles) is on sale for $2.22, which is about 9 cents per bottle. Rite Aid has 7UP 2-liter bottles on sale for $1 each. Use the in-ad coupon for $1 off four to pay 75 cents each when you buy four bottles.

Infusium 23: Rite Aid has Infusium 23 shampoo or conditioner (16 ounce) on sale for $5 each. Use two of the $2 coupons from the Aug. 18 SmartSource to pay $3 each at the register. You will get a $5 +UP Reward when you buy two, so your net cost will be 50 cents each or a savings of 90 percent off the regular price of $5.50 per bottle.

Trident, Dentyne, Stride gum: Rite Aid has Trident, Dentyne and Stride single packs of gum on sale for 99 cents. Use the $1-off-three coupon from the Aug. 11 SmartSource to pay 66 cents each.
