Save on Cover Girl and more at CVS:

P&G products: CVS has a promotion that a gives you a $5 Extrabucks reward when you spend $20 on participating items on the front page. Tide liquid laundry detergent (19-32 loads) is included and on sale for $5.94. Use the $2 coupon from last Sunday’s P&G circular to pay $3.94 at the register, and $5.94 will be counted toward your $20 goal. If you bought three bottles of Tide with three coupons and bought two bottles of Dawn dish liquid (9 ounce) on sale for 99 cents with two 20-cent coupons, you would pay $13.40 at the register. Your net cost would be $8.40, or $1.68 per item.

Cosmetics: Scan your CVS card at the red coupon center to get a coupon for $5 off any cosmetics purchase of $15 or more. You could buy $20 of Cover Girl cosmetics on sale for buy one, get one 50 percent off and get both the $5 Extrabucks reward from the cover promotion and use the $5 coupon. Find additional Cover Girl coupons in last Sunday’s P&G circular to end up paying $8 for $25 worth of cosmetics. If you are enrolled in the CVS Beauty Club, your purchase also will count toward your $50 Beauty Club spending goal to receive another $5 Extrabucks reward.

Walmart

Campbell’s soup: Walmart has Campbell’s Chunky Soup(18.5- to 19-ounce sizes) on rollback pricing for $1.50 each. Use the coupon for 50 cents off two from the Sept. 8 SmartSource to pay $1.25 per can. Campbell’s Slow Cooker sauces (13 ounce) or Campbell’s Skillet sauces (9 ounce) are on sale for $1.98 each. Use the $1 coupon from the Aug. 25 SmartSource for either variety to pay 98 cents each. Chuck roast is $3.97 per pound for an easy crockpot meal.

Potatoes, pears, apples: Walmart has 10-pound bags of russet potatoes on sale for $3.50 each. Gala apples are $1.57 per pound, Bartlett pears are $1.27 per pound and Red Delicious apples are $1.27 per pound.

Mars, Nestlé, Hershey: Walgreens has Halloween candy bags (9.8- to 11.6-ounce sizes) from Mars, Nestlé and Hershey’s on sale for $2.50 each when you buy two. Use the $1-off-two store coupon from Walgreens’ coupon booklet in stores, and combine that with the $1-off-two Mars coupons from the Aug. 25 RedPlum or Sept. 8 RedPlum to pay $1.50 per bag. Find a coupon for $1 off two Hershey’s candy bags from the Sept. 8 SmartSource and find a coupon for $1 off two Nestlé candy bags from the Sept. 15 SmartSource.
