Start stocking up for school

Erasers, index cards, pens: Back-to-school deals are already starting at some stores. Staples has pencil cap erasers (12 count) on sale for one cent with a $5 purchase (limit two), 3-inch-by-5-inch white index cards (100 count) for one cent with a $5 purchase (limit two) and Bic Round Stic ballpoint pens in black (eight count) for 1 cent with a $5 purchase (limit two). If you picked up two of each of these items with a $5 purchase, the total value would be $7.58 in items for 6 cents, no coupons required. 

Folders, glue, paper: Office Max has weekly penny deals with $5 minimum purchase including paper folders regularly priced at 25 cents (limit 10 at one cent each) and Office Max white glue (4-ounce bottle) regularly priced at 75 cents (limit 10 at one cent). Also get OfficeMax 8 1/2-by-11-inch multipurpose paper (500 count) for one cent after a $6.98 MaxPerks Reward. You’ll pay $6.99 at the register and will get $6.98 in your rewards account. Limit two with reward. 

Mead notebooks: Walgreens has Mead Five Star Notebooks, Composition Books or Folders on sale “buy one, get one free.” Use the coupon for $1 off any two Five Star products from the July 7 P&G circular to save more. Prices vary by item.

Breakfast savings

Kellogg’s: Kmart has selected varieties of Kellogg’s cereals on sale for $2.50 per box. Use the $1-off-two coupon for Krave cereal from the June 23 RedPlum circular to pay $2 per box. Use the $1-off-three coupon for any variety of Kellogg’s cereal from the June 2 RedPlum to pay $2.17 per box.

General Mills: Walgreens has selected General Mills cereals (8.9- to 12.8-ounce sizes) on sale for $1.67 each. Use the $1-off-two coupon from the June 2, June 9 and June 23 SmartSource circulars to pay $1.17 per box.

CVS deals

Irish Spring, Softsoap: CVS has Irish Spring body wash or Softsoap body wash (15- to 18-ounce sizes) on sale for $2.99. Scan your CVS card at the red Coupon Center and get a $2 store coupon for either item to pay 99 cents each.

First aid items: CVS has a promotion that gives you a $5 Extrabucks reward when you buy any three Band Aid bandages, Red Cross, Neosporin, Benadryl or Aveeno items (excluding trial or travel sizes). You also will get a free first aid case, a $4.99 value. Get a $2 Benadryl, a $2 Neosporin and a 75-cent Band Aid coupon in the June 9 SmartSource.
