Coupon Mom: Labor Day grilling special, school supply closeouts

By Coupon Mom

"Grilling" deals at Publix, Walmart

Salad dressing, coffee, cereal: Look for the Publix flyer in the rack by the front door titled “Grilling” to get store coupons for deli purchases. One coupon gives you a free 20-ounce Pepsi product when you buy a whole Publix deli sub. Combine store coupons in the flyer with matching manufacturers coupons in the AJC coupon circulars for double savings. For example, you can use the Ken’s salad dressing coupon from the Grilling flyer for the “buy any two Ken’s dressing (9 ounce) and get one free” sale along with a manufacturers coupon for “buy any two Ken’s dressings and get one free” from the Aug. 11 SmartSource to get three bottles for the price of one. Find another store coupon that gives you a free package of Maxwell House coffee (10.5- to 11.5-ounce sizes) when you buy two boxes of selected Post cereals. Use the $1-off-two Post cereal coupon from the July 28 SmartSource as well. The Grilling flyer shows that Dole Fruit Smoothie Shakers (4 ounce) are on sale for $1 each. Use the $1 coupon from the June 23 SmartSource or Aug. 24 SmartSource to get the item free.

Chicken, vegetables: Walmart has good prices on grilling ingredients for Labor Day entertaining, such as chicken, peppers and tomatoes for kebabs. Green bell peppers are 58 cents each, three-packs of red, yellow and orange bell peppers are $2.98 each, grape tomatoes (10 ounce containers) are $1.88 each and boneless chicken breasts are $1.99 per pound. Sargento cheese slices (8 ounces) are $2.50 each. Use the 50-cent coupon from the Aug. 24 SmartSource to pay $2 each.
