A tip of the cap to FastCompany that first reported the story about Georgia Tech's new crowd funding project.

The AJC’s Kristina Torres followed-up with our own story about the "Georgia Tech Starter" program. She wrote:

Folks from around the world can now vote with their dollars about research at Georgia Tech, as one of the state’s top institutions launched a website last week tapping into that most basic of Internet Age fundraising: crowd funding.
