Those freezing temperatures you felt this morning shouldn’t return this week.

Atlanta should wake up to 40-degree weather, a start contrast to the 20 and 30-degree temperatures that greeted commuters, Channel 2 Action News reported. The city saw its first freeze since March 16.

As sunny skies came out, Atlanta reached a high of 65 degrees. The average for this time of year is 69 degrees. The current temperature is 59.

The low should be about 47 degrees by 7 a.m. Tuesday, placing the metro area near the average of 49 for this time of year, Channel 2 chief meteorologist Glenn Burns said.

Warm air coming in from the Gulf should bring temperatures to the mid-60s by late afternoon, according to Channel 2.

Tuesday evening should be dry and pleasant for trick-or-treaters. By Wednesday, temps are expected to be back in the 70s and stay there for the rest of the week, according to Channel 2.
