It may still be winter, but it doesn’t feel like it.

Atlanta reached 70 degrees just after 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Channel 2 Action News reported. It’s the warmest the city has been since Dec. 5. The average high for this time of year is 57. And Friday could even top that with a projected high of 73.

“Temperatures will continue above normal beyond the five-day forecast as well,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said. “Above-average warmth is likely through the end of February.”

It’s currently 67 degrees.

Temps were about 10 to 15 degrees higher today than they were Wednesday, he said.

While Thursday brought springlike weather, it did not bring sunshine and clear skies.

Some areas saw drizzle and patches of light rain in the morning, and skies are still cloudy.
