Surfer fights shark, loses part of hand

A shark ripped part of a man's hand off while he was surfing at a beach near the town of Port Macquarie, Australia, on Friday, 281 kilometres (175 miles) north of Sydney. A paramedic on the scene said the 29-year-old man suffered bites to his leg, and lost two fingers on his left hand.
