The Oscar red carpet rolls out
Actress Gwyneth Paltrow striking a pose on the Oscar red carpet. Year after year, the famous carpet rolls out on Hollywood Boulevard days ahead of the actual ceremony because of its sheer size - it stretches over 40,000 square feet or 3,700 square meters. Joe Lewis is head of production for the Academy Awards. Soundbite: Joe Lewis, Oscars Production Head, saying (English) "It takes about 600 man hours to do all the carpet for the Academy Awards, not just specifically here on the boulevard."
