Brandon Wood back in Georgia’s DT rotation

Athens — Sophomore Brandon Wood is back in the defensive tackle rotation after serving a two-game suspension for an Oct. 19 DUI arrest.
“Brandon made absolutely no excuses whatsoever, he ‘fessed up to everything that happened, he was very apologetic, very sorry, he was crushed that he had to call his mother and tell her,” Richt said. “He took the punishment like a man and did some scout-team work for us to help us get ready. I asked him yesterday if he learned anything and he said, ‘Coach you don’t ever have to worry about me getting into trouble again.’ He learned a good lesson and he handled it well.”
Two QBs
Kentucky coach Rich Brooks said it’s likely he will play both freshman Randall Cobb and sophomore Mike Hartline at quarterback this week but it’s not because he likes to rotate players.
“I would rather have whoever starts the game be so productive I don’t want to take him out,” Brooks said. “But we have a lot of functioning parts on our offense right now. They’re not always functioning together unfortunately. We’re very, very young and green outside and now we’re even a little more inexperienced in the line as well.”
Dogs confident
Richt said the team responded to his challenge of practicing hard this week and putting the Florida loss behind them.
“I do think we had a very good week of practice,” he said. “On Tuesday I actually thanked the guys for getting after it. It was very good medicine for us. They practiced well every day.
Injury report
Defensive end Jeremy Lomax (shoulder) was added to the travel roster and the Bulldogs expect him to play. Linebacker Darius Dewberry (hip flexor) will not make the trip.
Richt said Stafford is healthy despite a pair of minor injuries sustained against Florida. Stafford lost feeling for a short time in his right arm after getting hit on the ulna nerve. He also had X-rays on his left ankle, which took a blow in the second half, but they were negative. Stafford said there have been no lingering effects.
