A reserve center on the University of Georgia football team, Kevin Perez, was arrested early Thursday in Athens and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, according to a jail booking report.

Perez, 21, also was charged with violating stop and yield signs, the Athens-Clarke County Jail document stated.

Coach Mark Richt said Perez, who has appeared in three games this season, will be suspended for the Bulldogs’ final two games — Saturday’s against Georgia Tech, and the Bowl game.

“His actions were not acceptable standards of behavior, and he’ll pay a price for his poor judgment,” Richt said in a statement.

Perez is the 11th Georgia football player arrested on various charges since January.

A redshirt sophomore from Miami, Perez was arrested by Athens-Clarke County police, booked into the jail at 4:13 a.m. and released on total bonds of $2,000 a little more than an hour later, according to jail records.
