The legendary AAA 4-Diamond PGA National Resort & Spa in upscale Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., offers an "Escape & Play" package on stays from Oct. 17 through March 1, 2010.

The package, with a nightly rate of $279, is valid for single or double occupancy. A minimum stay of two nights is required for stays in standard accommodations.

A daily $20 resort fee is not included. It includes complimentary Internet access, fitness center access with Pilates, yoga and spinning classes, unlimited tennis court times and more. Blackout dates apply on this offer.

If you're traveling with the kids (age 12 years or younger), they'll enjoy breakfast on the house and complimentary Kids Club entrance (a $45 value).

Just last year, the resort completed a $65 million dollar renovation. Posh guest rooms feature Asian maple wood furnishings, granite and marble bathrooms with spa amenities, executive desks, on-command video, robes, daily newspaper delivery and more.

Property amenities include 19 tennis courts, nine pools, seven restaurants and lounges, a 26-acre lake, a health and racquet club, a croquet complex and The Spa. Shuttle service is offered to nearby beaches.

This contemporary resort has been named "America's Best Resort Courses" by Golfweek, and "Top Five Hotels in Palm Beach County" by Zagat. It is minutes from downtown Palm Beach. Palm Beach Airport is a 20-minute drive, and the Fort Lauderdale Airport is about 40 minutes away.

The nightly rate includes the following:

  • One round of golf on the Palmer, Haig, Squire or Estate golf courses (per night of stay)
  • Range balls and bag storage
  • A David Leadbetter Golf Academy Clinic (one clinic per room, per visit)
  • Access to The Spa's "The Waters of the World" (healing mineral pools with imported salts)
  • Two for one cocktails at the sophisticated iBar
  • Breakfast
