For ajc.com

Kentucky state parks are celebrating their 85th anniversary this year by offering lodge rooms for $55 a night on weekday stays through February 2010.

The offer is valid with a coupon on Sunday through Thursday stays at all 17 state resort parks. During October, the offer is good at 12 parks. Some holiday blackout dates apply.

Kentucky state parks offer excellent scenery and adventure. Choose from a location along a shoreline, or one in the mountains or woodlands. Besides lodges, most resorts also have cottages and campgrounds, along with hiking trails and other recreational opportunities. And, all of the resorts have full-service restaurants.

For more information about each of the 52 Kentucky state parks, visit parks.ky.gov. Print the $55 rate coupon to present at check-in at mykentuckybackyard.com.
