Get to Monterey-Carmel on the cheap. One-way rates, inclusive of all taxes and fees, is $150.20 on American, Delta/Northwest or United. All serve Monterey with one flight connection stop.
The deal is permitted seven days a week (based on availability) on trips finished on or before Aug. 13, 2010. The one catch is the required 21-day advance purchase notice. There are no other rules — no blackout dates and no minimum stay requirements.
United Airlines also permits an intermediate stop in Denver for an additional $56 per stop. Imagine turning this deal into a two-city vacation this winter. Head to the coast for a few days, and on the way home stop in Colorado for some Rocky Mountain resort skiing.

One hotel package that packs in value comes from Comfort Inn Monterey by the Sea, located within minutes to major attractions in the area such as the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Fisherman's Wharf, Steinbecks Cannery Row, 17 Miles Drive, Pebble Beach and other world renowned golf courses, and the beaches.
The "Hearst Castle" package, valid on Monday-Wednesday arrivals (slightly higher for Thursday-Sunday arrivals), includes two tickets to Hearst Castle, two tickets to the Monterey Aquarium, breakfast for two, hotel parking and Queen accommodations. Rates are from $189, single or double occupancy, on stays through Oct. 31 (blackout: Sept. 18-20; Oct 8-11). Complimentary Internet access, morning paper and in-room coffee is also included.
