Life’s essentials are imported onto the island, so expect high prices. Cut costs in a cottage or apartment from $50 per person, per night, with breakfast. Experience
Walk part of the 22-mile Railway Trail (bermudarailway.net). Best is the South Shore route from Warwick Long Bay to lovely Horseshoe Bay in Southampton. Experienced/confident drivers might rent a moped for island exploring. Eve Cycles offers Fly N’ Ride service, making it possible to rent the automatic scooter at the airport (after a short training program) with luggage delivered separately. Stroll the 17th-century village of St. George’s at the East End and visit its Anglican church, said to be the oldest in the Western Hemisphere. Slip into a pub here or in Hamilton for a cold Dark ‘n’ Stormy, the national drink made from ginger beer and black rum, served with a wedge of lime.
