Fly to Buffalo, N.Y., with AirTran or Delta at $99 each way (based on sale rates booked through Sept. 16). Then catch one of two daily rides on Megabus. Seats are $9-$12 each way for the 2 1/2-hour ride from the downtown terminal. www.megabus.com.

Getting there

One-way rates of $280 require a 21-day or more advance purchase. Choose from seven daily nonstop flights with Air Canada or Delta Air Lines. Air Canada occasionally discounts this route at $196 each way. Expect lower prices closer to fall and winter.
