Here’s a sizzling summertime travel deal that will take you to Portland, Maine and to the state’s dramatic coastal regions. Think lobster, historic lighthouses, sandy beaches to scenic rocky coast and the great outdoors.

Portland is Maine’s largest city and situated at the mouth of the Fore River where it flows into Casco Bay and its Calendar Islands (there are 365 of them).
You’ll be minutes to beaches and the state’s famous coastline and romantic harbor with lobster boats, sailboats and the sound of foghorns.
On a road trip from Portland you’ll be a short distance to inland lakes and the mountains in the west part of the state.
A favorite spot in Maine for outdoor lovers is Bar Harbor, about a 120 mile drive from Portland.
Bar Harbor’s family-owned Bar Harbor Motel was ranked #3 of the top 10 family friendly hotels in the United States at under $150 a night by fellow consumers at TripAdvisor.com (http://www.tripadvisor.com). The motel was the only one listed in the top 5 that was not located in Florida.
Although not on the ocean (it’s one mile to the center of Bar Harbor and the waterfront), the motel sits at on two trails leading into Acadia National Park and is on a scheduled stop for the Island Explorer - a free shuttle bus service for Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park, and to hiking trails, carriage roads (foot and bike-friendly*; closed to all motor traffic), island beaches, and in-town shops and restaurants (http://www.exploreacadia.com).
The motel offers a number of value-packed packages with the “Late Spring Getaway” valid on June 15-30 stays.
