The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will take the stage on Robin Lake Beach for a performance of works by Dvorak, Vaughan Williams, Bizet, Brahms, and Copland — along with a special tribute to our armed forces on Saturday, April 25 at 8 p.m.
Recalling last year’s outdoor performance at Callaway Gardens as “simply awesome,” Edward Callaway, chairman and CEO of Callaway Gardens calls this experience a “don’t miss.”
Admission is free for attendees presenting a valid military identification card for all members of the military, including active duty, reserve, National Guard, retiree and dependents.
General seating on the lawn is $10 for adults (tax included, no advance purchases, non-refundable, no rate date) with admission complimentary for children 12 and under.
A limited number of stage front tables (tents, umbrellas not permitted) of 8 (chairs and tablecloths provided) are available for $200 each. To reserve a table, please call 706-663-6853. Dress is casual.
The U.S. Hwy. 27 beach entrance gate will open at 5 p.m.
Proceeds from the concert benefit the Ida Cason Callaway Foundation.
Why not plan to stay the night?
Overnight packages, including admission to the ASO concert; Saturday and Sunday admission to Callaway Gardens; Saturday night lodging and use of the Callaway Fitness Center are priced from $125 per night, based on double occupancy. Accommodations are in the cozy Mountain Creek Inn with other rates available in the Southern Pine Cottages, the secluded Mountain Creek Villas and the luxurious Lodge and Spa.
Also on Saturday, April 25, Callaway Gardens will host a public celebration of the 25th anniversary of the John A. Sibley Horticultural Center at 2 p.m. with a ceremony with music and a few spoken words. The Sibley Center is one of the nation’s premiere display garden conservatories.
Callaway Gardens is about 60 minutes southwest of Atlanta.
