Aruba for $118 O/W among Spirit’s island deals

Psst… here’s a rare chance to capitalize on an airfare filing error from Spirit Airlines. At least I believe these prices are goofs rather than intentional.

I haven’t written much of late about this budget airline for one hard fact. It charges customers a $9 fee to learn first about their best airfare deals. For one, I don’t plan to pay to join any club for the chance of saving a few bucks.

Still — today’s possible error could pan out to be great news for those planning on vacationing in sunny spots — maybe for a honeymoon or just to chill.

These one-way rates require a 21-day advance notice of travel:

• $79 Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic

• $108 Panama City, Panama; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles

• $118 Aruba, Netherlands Antilles

• $129 Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

These rates are good any day of the week, based on availability. And, Spirit posts no blackout dates.

One separate deal to mention is Spirit’s round-trip low rate of $158 to Nassau, Bahamas. This deal requires no advance purchase notice (maybe a getaway this weekend?) and it’s valid seven days a week, based on availability.

Travel to all destinations must be finished on or before Dec. 16.

Spirit Airlines offers two daily non-stop flights between Atlanta and Fort Lauderdale (it’s hub airport) with connecting service onward. Spirit may not offer daily service to these noted destinations.
