Sunny San Diego beckons for $209 round-trip on Continental

You just might be able to afford that vacation this year! Don’t rule one out thinking it’s out of the budget. There’s a airfare deal today to one extremely popular vacation destination. That place is the perpetually sunny San Diego, Calif. With average temperatures of 70 degrees, this city appeals to visitors year-round for several reasons.

For starters, there’s 70 miles of beaches and then there are the top attractions such as the animal-friendly San Diego zoo, Sea World, Legoland, Seaport Village, two aquariums, several museums and the city’s Old Town.

That May 5 is significant as it is the day AirTran resumes its non-stop and seasonal flight service between Atlanta and San Diego.

Through midnight Thursday (Jan. 15), AirTran (and Delta matches) offers a $144 one-way rate on trips started on or after May 5 and finished on or before May 20. The sale price is valid Tuesday, Wednesday or Saturday. Other days of the week, except Sunday, are $164. Sunday travel is at regular rates from $209 each way.
