Sunny San Diego beckons for $209 round-trip on Continental

You just might be able to afford that vacation this year! Don’t rule one out thinking it’s out of the budget. There’s a airfare deal today to one extremely popular vacation destination. That place is the perpetually sunny San Diego, Calif. With average temperatures of 70 degrees, this city appeals to visitors year-round for several reasons.

For starters, there’s 70 miles of beaches and then there are the top attractions such as the animal-friendly San Diego zoo, Sea World, Legoland, Seaport Village, two aquariums, several museums and the city’s Old Town.
A new attraction that opened this summer is the Rolling Safari tour inside of the San Diego Zoo’s Wildlife Animal Park. Visitors ages 13 and up can explore previously closed parts of the park - and to get up close to some off-exhibit Asian and African animals - from a personal Segway X2 transporter. Today only, Continental Airlines offers a round-trip deal of $209 to San Diego on trips started on or after May 5 and on trips completed by Nov. 18. The rate is valid seven days a week (based on availability). There are no blackout dates so book peak summer holidays today!
That May 5 is significant as it is the day AirTran resumes its non-stop and seasonal flight service between Atlanta and San Diego.
Through midnight Thursday (Jan. 15), AirTran (and Delta matches) offers a $144 one-way rate on trips started on or after May 5 and finished on or before May 20. The sale price is valid Tuesday, Wednesday or Saturday. Other days of the week, except Sunday, are $164. Sunday travel is at regular rates from $209 each way.
