AirTran offers deals to Columbus, college football cities

AirTran adds another destination on its route map with its announcement of new non-stop service between Atlanta and Columbus, Ohio beginning on November 6.

To introduce this new route, AirTran offers a discounted one-way rate of $94 - valid on trips taken through December 17.

Trips at this rate are permitted seven days a week, based on sale seat availability.

Some blackout dates apply: November 25, 26, 29, 30 and December 1.

The intro rate must be purchased on or before September 16.

Another AirTran sale offers bargains to destinations where Big 10 collegiate teams - and other ranked teams - are playing some of the biggest match-ups of the year.

Here are some of the match-up where AirTran has reduced airfares so that you can be at the game in person to cheer on your favorite teams —

- Miami vs. Florida in Jacksonville, September 6, from $74

- Georgia vs. Arizona State in Phoenix (Tempe), September 20, from $129

- Ohio State vs. Michigan State in Detroit (East Lansing), October 18, from $99

- Auburn vs. West Virginia in Pittsburgh (Morgantown), October 23, from $99

- Georgia vs. Florida, Jacksonville, November 1, from $74

- Alabama vs. Louisiana State, New Orleans (Baton Rouge), November 8, from $89

Sample one-way rates are based on Monday-Thursday or Saturday travel. Trips on Friday or Sunday cost from $10-$20 more.

The last permitted travel date at these rates is November 19.

Buy tickets through midnight, August 29. Give at least a one-week advance notice of travel.
