Jump on AirTran's deals to Orlando and Ft. LauderdaleFor the Journal-Constitution
Published on: 05/23/08
A child's first flight is often to the state of Florida for a visit with Mickey Mouse or Grandma and Grandpa. Take advantage of today's best airfare deal to do just that, or for a more grown-up vacation in a swanky beachfront resort.

AirTran offers a one-way rate of only $59 to Orlando and $79 to Fort Lauderdale on trips finished on or before June 18. Trips to both destinations can begin on or after May 29.
The sale rate to Orlando has more restrictions than the one to FLL. Travel to Fort Lauderdale is permitted seven days a week at anytime of the day. However, travel to Orlando can only be on the 1:01pm southbound departure and northbound on a choice of two flights — 2:08pm or 3:16pm.
Tickets must be purchased on or before May 27. www.airtran.com.
Don't leave for the Sunshine State without first checking out the deals at Florida Vacation Auction, www.floridavacationauction.com.
Every week new offers are posted on the Web site for savings as much as 80 percent off on hotels, resorts, attractions, golf and more. Auction lots are offered with a true auction with bidding or the opportunity to Buy Direct at higher prices (such as Buy It Now option at eBay.com).
Winners of auction lots pay no more than their final bid — no extras, hidden fees, handling or service costs.
Bid with confidence as Florida Vacation Auction is the only vacation auction partner of VISIT FLORIDA(TM), the State of Florida's Official Source for Travel Planning, and a member of the Florida Lodging Association and the Florida Attractions Association.
One auction lot worth noting to go along with AirTran's airfare bargain is a stay at the highly-rated Nickelodeon Family Suites by Holiday Inn for a two-night stay in a two-bedroom KidSuite on stays from June 15 through October 4 at a starting package price of $155. Normally suites start from $180 a night for two persons and higher for three or four sharing.
The Nick suite is semi-private with a kids' bedroom with bunk beds or two twin beds, 20" TV, in-suite game system and CD/cassette player. The adult bedroom is private with king or queen bed, 25" TV, clock radio and vanity/work station. The Family Room features a pullout sleeper sofa, 25" TV, high-speed Internet access, table and chairs mini kitchen with a sink, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker.
This resort features daily character breakfasts with some of the most popular Nicktoons. The pools are spectacular with live entertainment alongside two water park-style pool complexes with 13 slides, flumes and more.
This auction lot is set to open on June 1 and expire June 8.
