You'll savor that glass of wine even more after you have learned more about how and where wine grapes are grown. Here's a sampling of tours:

• Five-day Vineyard Walking Tours of California's Sonoma County are offered by Zephyr Wine Adventures. Anyone with an interest in learning about wine or just being in wine country will have fun. Visitors can choose from casual walks to lengthy ones in the region's most scenic and famous vineyards. Tours include all meals (except one lunch), accommodations, daily wine tastings and guided walks. The tours are offered Aug. 24-28 and Oct. 26-30. Per-person cost, based on double occupancy, is $1,900. www.sonomavineyardwalks.com .
