For ajc.com

You know all about the early bird, so plan today and lock in outstanding savings on that long weekend on the slopes or that fun in the snow family getaway.

A sale from Frontier Airlines makes travel to the Rockies -- and to Utah -- super affordable. The sale runs through midnight Aug. 24.

One-way rates are $109 to Aspen, Colorado Springs or Grand Junction, Colo.; $119 to Salt Lake City, Utah; $129 to Bozeman, Mt., or Jackson Hole, Wy.; and $139 to Boise, Idaho.

Sale rates require a 10-day or more advance notice of travel.

Add $20 to the rates above for travel on Fridays or Sundays. Also, factor in another $20-$25 for extra taxes and fees.

All travel at these rates must be completed by Feb. 10. Avoid these blackout dates: Nov. 25-30; Dec. 18, 19, 22-24, 27-29, 31; and Jan. 2, 3.

A number of other carriers are matching these offers, so try your initial flight search to discover who flies where at Kayak.com.
