Kids back in school after incident on school busTwo High Point Elementary students involved in an incident on a school bus were back in school Wednesday.
Late Tuesday afternoon Fulton County School officials were alerted that a 8-year-old girl had been stabbed with a pencil by an 8-year-old boy during the ride home.

Wednesday morning district spokeswoman Susan Hale said the pencil did not pierce the girl's skin but she was checked out by a physician because of a pre-existing health concern.
"We understand now that her mother took her to see a doctor, not an ambulance," she said.
Hale said an investigation into the incident is ongoing. School officials are talking to several of the children who were on the bus to determine whether the boy's actions were intentional or accidental. The bus is equipped with video surveillance but did not capture the incident, Hale said.
A letter is being sent home with students this afternoon, she said.
The incident happened between 2:40 and 2:50 p.m. Tuesday and emergency personnel responded to the bus. The names of the two children have not been released.
High Point Elementary is off High Point Road near the top end of the Perimeter and Ga. 400. The school has about 500 students in pre-k through fifth grade.
