Nov. 4 voting:
Adamson, a former headmaster at Mt. Zion Academy, totaled 58.6 percent of the vote in the race for District 1. Cleopatra Ballantyne trailed with 41.5 percent.
The District 1 and 9 seats have been vacant since Aug. 28, when Gov. Sonny Perdue removed four board members for violating the state ethics code and Open Meetings Act. The board members were removed the same day the Southern Associations of Colleges and Schools revoked Clayton’s accreditation.
All of the school board candidates pledged to work to meet the nine mandates needed to regain accreditation.
