Numbers behind Thrashers win streak

Five consecutive victories give the Thrashers the longest current winning streak in the NHL and match the longest previous winning streaks in franchise history.
But five is far from the only number that tells what’s going on for the Thrashers. There’s more to the story of how one of the league’s worst teams has become competitive in the latter part of the season.
• .925 — Save percentage for Kari Lehtonen since the beginning of February. The franchise record for save percentage in a season is .916, by Lehtonen last season.
• 3.5 — Seconds left when Todd White scored the tying goal in Saturday night’s shootout victory at Buffalo.
• 10 — Shorthanded goals for the Thrashers since New Year’s Day, with the 10th coming Saturday night. Only four NHL teams have scored more than 10 all season. The Thrashers are 7-1 when scoring at least one shorthanded goal.
• 11 — Victories from the start of February through Saturday night. Only seven NHL teams won more games in that span: Detroit 14; Nashville, New Jersey and Vancouver 13; Columbus, Pittsburgh and Washington 12.
• 15 — Goals for Ilya Kovalchuk in his past 14 full games. Kovalchuk averaged two points per game during that stretch and had a plus-7 rating. Kovalchuk aggravated an upper body injury early in Thursday’s game at Edmonton, and his status for Monday night’s game is uncertain. (Center Jim Slater, injured Saturday, is unlikely to play, the team said.)
• 29 — Goals for Bryan Little through 69 games of his first full season with the Thrashers, the same number of goals scored by Kovalchuk in 65 games for the Thrashers in his first season.
• 61 — Points this season for center Todd White. His previous career high of 60 came in 2002-03 with Ottawa.
• 83.3 — The Thrashers’ shootout winning percentage this season, second only to Colorado’s .900.
• 190 — Consecutive games played by forward Slava Kozlov if he plays Monday night. That will tie him for the Thrashers record set by Bobby Holik from March 1, 2006-April 5, 2008.
