Scratch Todd McLellan's name from the list of Thrashers coaching candidates.

The Detroit Red Wings assistant coach cancelled an interview with Thrashers general manager Don Waddell and will be introduced today as coach of the San Jose Sharks, the Detroit Free Press reported on its Web site.

McLellan could not be reached by the Journal-Constitution. Red Wings coach Mike Babcock kept an interview short and to the point. "He's not going there [to Atlanta]," Babcock said.

Waddell has said he will interview Thrashers associate coach Brad McCrimmon; John Anderson, coach of the Thrashers' top minor-league affiliate, and one or two others. Waddell has been interim coach since firing Bob Hartley last October.
