Dumping Georgia-Auburn rivalry would be bad for college football
The Georgia Bulldogs play their first game in Athens in a month, hosting Division I-AA, er, Football Championship Subdivision's Tennessee Tech.
It will be teams' first meeting since 1943, when the Golden Eagles were shut out 67-0 in Athens.
Tennessee's defense has forced 16 turnovers this season and the offense is led by senior quarterback Lee Sweeney, who has thrown for 1,466 yards and 11 TDs. Tailback Dontey Gay has gained 438 yards on 81 carries with six touchdowns this season. That's nearly 70 more yards on fewer carries than Georgia's leading rusher, Richard Samuel.
Georgia (4-4) has lost three of its past four games.
