Water war to impact Ga-Fla game?
State legislator: Move game out of Jacksonville, keep millions in Georgia
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

The ruling dealt a blow to Georgia but heavily favors Florida and Alabama.

Dumping Georgia-Auburn rivalry would be bad for college football
State Sen. John Douglas (R-Social Circle) said Jacksonville has been a great venue, but that Georgia can’t afford to hold the game in another state every year.
“With the recession and the likelihood that we’re going to have to find new water sources, we can keep that $25 million [the game’s economic impact] in Georgia at least every other year,” Douglas said. “It’s an economic decision that we find ourselves thrust into with the recession and the judge’s decision.”
The current contract with Jacksonville runs through the 2010 game.
