The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Reshad Jones, Georgia’s starting strong safety, missed practice Thursday and will be sidelined for an undetermined period with what coach Mark Richt called a “tweaked” hamstring.

“He’ll be healthy enough when the season starts [Sept. 5 at Oklahoma State],” Richt said. “He’ll have enough time to be in great condition for the first game. He has enough quality reps and playing time where I don’t think it’ll be a huge deal.

“He had a lot of positive momentum coming into this camp, so I’m sad for him it happened. But he’ll be OK.”

In Jones’ absence, Quintin Banks worked at No. 1 strong safety Thursday.
