1. Georgia’s defense stood up after getting off to an atrocious start. Auburn scored on its first two possessions, but the Bulldogs’ defense did not allow a Tigers touchdown thereafter (one touchdown was on a 99-yard kickoff return).

• 145 -- Yards offense by Auburn in the first quarter (on 23 plays)
• 5 -- Yards offense by Georgia in the first quarter (on 7 plays)
• 53-52-8 -- Auburn’s all-time lead in the series with Georgia
• 4 -- Teams with winning records in SEC games this season -- Florida, Alabama, LSU and Georgia.
Injury report
• Bacarri Rambo (concussion): The Georgia defensive back was injured late in the game and carted off the field on a backboard. After the game, Georgia reported that he had suffered a concussion and had lost consciousness but had feeling in all extremities.
• A.J. Green (shoulder): The Georgia wide receiver left the game early in the second quarter and did not return. He has an acromioclavicular (AC) sprain of the left shoulder.
• Darius Dewberry (elbow): The Georgia linebacker left the game with an injured left elbow and did not return.

• Georgia players wore a baseball decal with the initials “CV” on the back of their helmets in honor of UGA baseball player Chance Veazey, who was seriously injured in an Oct. 28 traffic accident. Veazey is continuing his rehabilitation at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta.
• Former UGA football player Billy Payne was recognized at midfield before the game as the recipient of this year’s Distinguished American Award from the National Football Foundation. Payne was CEO of the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta and currently is chairman of Augusta National Golf Club.
• Former Georgia baseball player Gordon Beckham attended Saturday’s game and was recognized in the first quarter for his fine rookie season with the Chicago White Sox.
