The 5-foot-10, 205-pound Ogletree will play either fullback or linebacker at UGA. His twin brother, Alec Ogletree, committed to the Bulldogs last spring and is the nation's No. 1-rated safety.
UGA recruiting coordinator Rodney Garner observed the brothers in Newnan's loss to Northside-Warner Robins in the Class AAAAA semifinals Friday. UGA coach Mark Richt called Alec on Saturday.
"Alec handed me the phone, and [Richt] said ‘we want to offer you at fullback and linebacker,'" Zander said. "This was the offer I had been waiting on."
Zander had been considering offers from Savannah State, West Alabama and Shorter.
"I'm just ecstatic," said the twin's mother, Allyson Ogletree. "We were patient and going to support the boys, no matter what happened.
We feel really blessed that they are going to the same college."
Zander was Newnan's leading tackler this year, and reminds some Georgia fans of current linebacker Rennie Curran.
