Last time played: Georgia QB Joe Cox threw for 201 yards and two TDs and Brandon Boykin scored on a 100-yard kickoff return to lift the Bulldogs to a 41-37 win at Sanford Stadium on Sept. 12, 2009.

South Carolina on offense: Junior QB Stephen Garcia played one of the best games of his career, going 16-for-23 for 193 yards with no sacks or interceptions in the Gamecocks’ 41-13 season-opening win over Southern Miss on Thursday. He received help from freshmen Marcus Lattimore and Ace Sanders, who combined for 175 yards of offense and two scores. The Gamecocks were 5-for-5 in the red zone.

South Carolina on defense: The Gamecocks gave up 404 yards of offense, including 337 through the air, but they held the Golden Eagles to just 13 points. FS Akeem Auguste led South Carolina with eight tackles, but the Gamecocks had only one sack and one interception in 57 pass attempts. LB Shaq Wilson, the team’s leading tackler in 2009, is expected to miss Saturday’s game with a pulled hamstring.

South Carolina on special teams: Former walk-on Spencer Lanning, who handles the punting and kicking, was 2-for-2 on field goal attempts and averaged 52.5 yards on two punts in the opener. He missed three field goal attempts in 20 tries last year. The Gamecocks averaged only 23 yards on three kickoff returns and didn’t return a punt against Southern Miss.

What you should know: Georgia is 7-1 against South Carolina the past eight years, losing 16-12 in 2007. The Bulldogs haven’t lost in Columbia since 2000.

What you might not know: The Gamecocks have had six consecutive nonlosing seasons for the first time since 1928-34.
