Gundy said in a three-sentence statement issued Tuesday morning that Mosley has been a good teammate and those in the Oklahoma State program wish him the best. Gundy says he won't comment further about Mosley's departure.
The 6-foot-4, 254-pound Mosley is from Memphis, Tenn. Last season he played in 11 games, catching five passes for 57 yards.
Mosley was listed atop the Cowboys' depth chart released earlier this week, meaning he was in line to start for No. 9 Oklahoma State in its season opener on Saturday against No. 13 Georgia.
Sophomore Wilson Youman now is expected to start at tight end.
