Georgia quarterback Joe Cox told the AJC this afternoon that he is feeling better after battling flu-like symptoms for a couple of days. “I will be playing tomorrow,” Cox vowed.

Cox said by phone that he did not fly with the team to Oklahoma City this afternoon, but he said he would make the trip “later today.”

“I’ll be there,” he said.

Georgia opens its season Saturday afternoon against Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Okla.

Cox said he began feeling ill in the middle of the night Wednesday with symptoms such as “fever and stuff.”

“I don’t know what it is,” he said.

As of this afternoon, Cox said, “I feel pretty good. A lot better than I did.”
