Former UGA offensive tackle Chris Terry, whose NFL career was cut short by his struggles with substance abuse, faces three felony charges after being pulled over by police in southern Indiana.

Terry, who resides in Athens, is charged with dealing and possessing cocaine, possessing a handgun without a permit, resisting arrest and driving under the influence, said Chuck Adams, a spokesman with the Clark County (Ind.) Sheriff's Office. "At least three of those are felonies," Adams said.

Details of the traffic stop were not made available by Clarksville Police. The Jacksonville native  is being held without bond and will likely be arraigned Thursday, Adams said.

Terry, 34, played for the Bulldogs from 1995-98 and was a captain his senior season. Terry, drafted in the second round by the Carolina Panthers, was suspended for the first four games of the 2003 season for violating the NFL's policies on substance abuse and personal conduct. The suspension stemmed from a 2002 incident in which Terry allegedly pushed his then-wife, NyQuell, into a wall during an argument.

Terry's professional career ended with the Kansas City Chiefs, who cut him after he didn't show up for team meetings. He was suspended by the NFL for at least a year prior to the 2008 season for violating the league's substance abuse policy a second time.
