The first question Markelle Fultz reportedly asked about Philadelphia was if it had a Chick-fil-A

Before being drafted No. 1 overall in the 2017 NBA Draft on Thursday night and before even agreeing to a workout with the Philadelphia 76ers, Washington guard Markelle Fultz made sure Philly had a Chick-fil-A.

In his story "What's Up, Philly" on The Players' Tribune, Fultz writes the first thing he asked his agent when learning he had a workout with the 76ers a week before the Draft was if there was a Chick-fil-A in Philly.

Fultz writes he woke up, thinking he had a workout with the Boston Celtics, who traded the No. 1 overall pick with the 76ers a few hours later.

Fultz agent informed him of a new plan: a workout with the 76ers, Fultz wrote.

“I was just waking up. So I was like, ‘O.K., cool. Do they have Chick-fil-A there?’” Fultz wrote. “A crispy chicken sandwich for breakfast. It’s kind of like my good luck charm. Keith (Fultz’s agent) never got back to me about that important question. So I found out for myself. I googled it immediately.

“Philly does have Chick-fil-A. It has six, actually. Seven if you count the one at the airport. Boston has zero Chick-fil-As, for what it’s worth.”

Fultz also wrote in The Players’ Tribune that upon arriving to his workout in Philadelphia, he was impressed when he walked in the practice facility and saw a “stack of Chick-fil-A sandwiches.”

Fultz full story and message to Philadelphia can be read on The Players' Tribune.
