Tech, Falcons issue ticket warning

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

The Falcons and Georgia Tech advised fans Thursday of ticket-buying scams for upcoming games.

Tech was alerted to the sale of $10 wristbands that would purportedly allow fans into a standing-room-only area in the North end zone of Bobby Dodd Stadium for Saturday's 6 p.m. game against Virginia Tech. The same bands were being sold for the Nov. 29 home game against Georgia. Neither the wristbands nor the SRO tickets are valid. Plus, there is no standing-room-only area in the North end zone.

A game ticket must be presented for admission. If you have questions, call the Tech ticket office at 404-894-5447. Fans are asked to make sure tickets are purchased from a Georgia Tech-affiliated source.

Tech assistant athletics director Dean Buchan said the scam impacted a small number of people, but there were enough people affected that Tech thought it necessary to alert fans.

The Falcons ask buyers to purchase tickets at ticketmaster.com or at 1-800-745-3000. Tickets can also be purchased at www.nflcom/ticketexchange or at 1-888-635-5944.
