Armanti Edwards threw three touchdowns and Devon Moore rushed for three to lead Appalachian State in a 52-16 rout of visiting Georgia Southern.

Edwards was 26-for-34 with 320 yards for the Mountaineers (5-2, 4-0 Southern Conference). Travaris Cadet rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.

Georgia Southern defensive back Hudson Presume was taken to Watauga Medical Center in Boone, N.C., after injuring his neck on the same play in which he forced a fumble. He was later released to travel home with the team after regaining full movement and his tests came back negative.

LaGrange 34, Westminster 17: Quarterback Drew Carter threw three touchdown passes during a 31-0 run for LaGrange (5-3), which beat Westminster College (3-4) for its fourth consecutive victory. It was LaGrange’s homecoming game.

Carter completed 14 of 27 passes for 256 yards and hit long TD passes to Nick Langley (37 yards), Stephen Tuck (27) and Colt Shope (50) as the Panthers turned an early 7-0 deficit into a 31-7 lead near the end of the third quarter. Joe Frye returned an interception 14 yards for a touchdown and Josh Stripling made two field goals for LaGrange, which intercepted three passes and recovered a fumble.

The Blue Jays outgained LaGrange 378 yards to 360, but couldn’t overcome the turnovers. Quarterbacks Daniel Eidson and Dan Franklyn were a combined 31-of-57 for 341 yards.

Shorter 56, Union 41: A.J. Cooley and Ben Williams combined for 361 rushing yards and seven touchdowns as Shorter beat Union College in Barbourville, Ky.

Cooley had 206 yards and three touchdowns on 40 carries, and Williams, the quarterback, rushed for 155 yards and four scores on 20 carries. Antwan Appleton added 89 yards on nine carries as the Hawks (5-3, 3-1 in NAIA’s Mid-South Conference) rushed for 453 yards. The two teams combined for 861 yards.

The wild-scoring game was tight until touchdown runs by Appleton and Cooley made it 56-35 late in the fourth quarter. Union (4-4, 3-3) was led by quarterback Mike Brinkley, who was 17-of-24 for 278 yards and five touchdowns.

West Georgia 10, West Alabama 9: West Georgia scored 10 third-quarter points, then held off West Alabama down the stretch to win its homecoming game and earn its first victory of the season.

Adi Brkic kicked a 42-yard field goal and Brandon Behenna passed 15 yards to Matt O’Brien for a touchdown for the Wolves (1-7), who trailed 9-0 at halftime.

West Alabama (5-4) twice drove deep into West Georgia territory in the fourth quarter, but missed a 37-yard field goal and had a pass intercepted at the Wolves 7 by West Georgia’s Trey Wilborn. West Alabama outgained the Wolves 426 yards to 250. West Georgia running back Yusuf Holloway gained 171 yards on 26 attempts.

Tuskegee 21, Albany State 19: Tony Forney’s 4-yard touchdown run with 25 seconds left gave Tuskegee a two-point win at Albany State, handing the Rams their first loss of the season.

The Golden Tigers trailed 19-14 before driving 90 yards to score the winning TD.

The Rams fell to 7-1 overall, 6-1 in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Tuskegee improved to 6-2, 6-1.

Old Dominion 38, Savannah State 17: DeMarcus Thomas threw three touchdown passes as the visiting Monarchs (6-2) secured a first winning season of play. Mario Crawford rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown. Savannah State (1-6) was led by quarterback Kurvin Curry, who completed 22 of 36 passes for 185 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for a team-high 50 yards.
