Silverbacks will open at New York

The Silverbacks will open the NASL’s 2014 Spring season at New York in a rematch of this year’s Soccer Bowl.

The teams will meet on April 12, according to the schedule released by the league on Thursday.

Atlanta will open its home season on April 19 against San Antonio. The team will host just four games in the Spring.

The other three are:

May 3 vs. Ottawa, 7:30 p.m.

May 31 vs. Minnesota, 7:30 p.m.

June 7 vs. Indianapolis, 7:30 p.m.

The NASL will play a nine-game Spring schedule which will end June 8 to coincide with the beginning of the World Cup. The winner of the Spring season will host the Soccer Bowl, NASL’s championship game. The Silverbacks won last year’s Spring season and were beaten 1-0 by New York in the title game.
