Here’s five things to know on Tuesday:

1. Braves fall to Astros, 16-4

The Atlanta Braves lost to their Independence Day matchup against the Houston Astros on Tuesday evening, 16-4. The Astros scored seven runs in 3 1/3 innings off Braves' pitcher Sean Newcomb for an early lead. The Braves play the second game of a two-game series from SunTrust Park on Wednesday at 7:35 p.m.

2. Atlanta United top the San Jose Earthquakes

Atlanta United defeated the San Jose Earthquakes 4-2 on Tuesday night in the Fourth of July MLS matchup. Atlanta United put on a show for fans at Bobby Dodd Stadium, scoring four goals in the second half. Atlanta United has some time to rest before the next match against Orlando City on July 21. The match will kick off at Orlando City Stadium at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN.

4. Freddie Freeman returns to SunTrust Park

After a one-game rehab assignment at Triple-A Gwinnett, Freddie Freeman returned to the field at SunTrust Park on Tuesday night. After fracturing his left wrist during a game on May 17, the former first baseman moved third base. Freeman last played third for five games in 2007.

5. Atlanta United's Alec Kann out 6-8 weeks

Atlanta United goalkeeper Alec Kann is expected to be out 6-8 weeks with a quad injury, the team announced on Tuesday. More info on Kann and who will step in during his absence can be found on the AJC.com.
