The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

USC running back Reggie Bush will be stripped of college football's top honor by the Heisman Trophy Trust, according to an exclusive report on Yahoo! Sports.

Bush would be the first player to have the Heisman Trophy taken away in the awards' 75 years.

The Yahoo! report states that the Heisman committee has concurred with an NCAA investigation that found Bush had accepted improper benefits while at USC and ruled him ineligible for the 2005 season. As a result, the Trojans are on four years' probation, a two-year bowl ban and a reduction in football scholarships.

The honor will, reportedly, remain vacant for the 2005 season. Texas quarterback Vince Young came in second in voting that year.

Yahoo! said Bush met with Heisman representatives last month in New York, but offered no details on the meeting.

Bush, second overall pick in 2006, is the New Orleans Saints' running back.
