In the sixth inning of Tuesday night’s game against the Colorado Rockies, Atlanta Braves right fielder Nick Markakis hit a solo home run to tie up the game, 3-3.

Markakis’ home run traveled 429 feet, the longest distance of any home run in his three-year career with the Braves.

After Markakis hit his seventh home run of the year, Braves third baseman Brandon Phillips scored the winning run in the eighth inning after a throwing error by Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado sent the ball sailing past first base on a single by Tyler Flowers.

The Braves won Tuesday’s game, 4-3.

The Braves return to Coors Field to play the third of four games against the Rockies on Wednesday at 8:40 p.m.
