For the AJC

LaGrange remained unbeaten behind a strong performance from forward Jamius Gunsby and beat North Hall 60-49 Friday in a Class AAA boys semifinal at the Macon Coliseum

The South Florida football signee scored 17 points, including a dunk midway through the fourth quarter that ignited an 8-0 run and put the game away.

“That really got us going,” said LaGrange head coach Mike Pauley. “After that we really locked down on defense and I think we just wore them down after that.”

LaGrange (31-0) will face Columbia in the finals, and is in search of the school’s first basketball title in 33 years.

“We’re really excited about this opportunity,” Pauley said. “Our whole community is excited.”

North Hall (27-4) was led by Kanler Coker, who had 19 points.
