McEachern coach leads Naismith nominees

McEachern girls basketball coach Phyllis Arthur was one of 11 coaches nominated Tuesday for the Naismith boy’s and girl’s Coach of the Year awards.
Smith was joined by Diane Richardson of Upper Marlboro, Md.; Curtis Ekmark of Phoenix; Brian Rush of Clarksville, Tenn.; and Anthony Smith of Bolingbrook, Ill.
The boys side nominees are Steve Smith of Mouth of Wilson, Va.; Bob Hurley of Jersey City, N.J.; Steve Turner of Washington; Robert Smith of Chicago; Joe Auer of Wichita, Kan.; and Danny Henderson of Flower Mound, Texas.
The winners will be announced March 22 at the Atlanta Tipoff Club’s Naismith Awards banquet.
