Grayson too much for Dacula
For the AJC
Grayson 44, Dacula 0: Ean Pemberton rushed for 148 yards and three touchdowns and the Grayson defense posted its second consecutive shutout.
The visiting Rams opened with a bang when Frank Bebbs took the opening kickoff and streaked 88 yards for a touchdown and quick 7-0 lead.
After an exchange of punts, Grayson defensive tackle Shawn Green intercepted an Andy Agudelo pass to give the Rams possession at the Dacula 35.
Pemberton burst six yards through the left side five plays later for a touchdown and 14-0 Rams lead midway through the first quarter.
Pemberton raced 48 yards for a touchdown and Austin Clark booted a 42-yard field goal in the second quarter to extend the Grayson advantage to 23-0 at half.
While Pemberton was running wild, the Grayson defense was dominating. Safety Kori Gaimes intercepted three passes, and Green also added a fumble recovery to his interception as the Rams held the Falcons to 55 total yards and three first downs in the first half.
The rout was on in the third quarter as Pemberton scored his final touchdown on a 3-yard run. Devin Gillespie and Ryan Braswell also rushed for touchdowns in the second half to close the scoring for the Rams.
